The pattern is straightforward, and somewhat easy to sew, it is difficult to get the interfacing into the wing itself. However ours passed the washer/ dryer test, only needing to get ironed back out. No issues with it holding shape/ standing up using the recommended materials for the inner layers.

I made fairy wings for my daughter out of cotton and flying monkey wings for my son out of thinner fur. This pattern is great, 3 options for wings and finally some dress up ideas for boys! The fairy wings weren't standing up when I first made them (like the other reviewer says). I moved where the elastic straps are attached further up the wing and now they stand up great! I love this pattern and will be using it much more in the future. The only issue I had was inserting an extra layer of interfacing after the wings were almost all sewn up was a little difficult and I didn't find it added to the stiffness of the wings, so I left it out of the second pair and they were fine.
