A button-up shirt/blouse might seem intimidating at first, but this pattern will walk you through the process with excellent photos, step-by-step instructions and you will be amazed (and proud!) with your finished product. There are two lengths and two sleeve options to choose from; if this is your first time making a blouse, I suggest starting with the short sleeves until you get the hang of it. With any shirt, the yoke/collar and sleeve plackets are tricky at first but doable. If you're new to button holes, consider pearl snaps for a quick alternative. This is a fantastic pattern that gives very professional results.
