I used a pre-quilted blue twill fabric and a printed knit lining to make vests for my 2T (with hood) and 6m (no hood) grandsons. I made the snap option because I wanted to finally use my Kam Snaps. They came out GREAT and they are so cute.
The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The only thing that wasn't clear to me was the center panel on the hood -- I couldn't tell if the large end or the small end of the panel was the top of the hood because (1) it wasn't marked on the pattern and (2) I've never made a hood before.
Luckily, the accompanying photos were enough for me to determine that the large end goes by the face and the small end is attached to the neck of the vest.

I have made a couple of these vests and they are SUPER cute! Great, detailed instructions, I found it very easy to make. Be sure to trim seams and clip corners as this is not specified in the instructions. I am just finishing up a small (size 6mo to 12mo) and I just found the collar to be somewhat "fiddly", I think because it IS so small. Because I did not want the small one to be too puffy or thick, I did not use batting but instead just a layer of flannel for the inside, and that worked out perfectly.
I love this pattern and would recommend it.

I made a cord/poplin reversible vest for my kid in the 1-2 year size. I am not an experienced sewer but this pattern and instruction set gave me excellent results. It looks like an expensive item of clothing. He's going to be the best dressed little guy in town. I can't wait to make more.

I love this pattern! I decided to make vests for my two kiddos and my two nieces and even their mom loves them (I sent her pics before wrapping as she is quite picky) and I used flannel outer and fleece lining. For the girls I added faux fur trim around the hood and my daughter didn't want to take it off lol. Thank you for creating patterns that are well explained and easy to follow...I was a little nervous about the zipper as I rarely use them but reading through and taking my time helped greatly and with each one I make I get more and more comfortable and confident!

I made the age 12 for a 10 year old - you definitely need to size up if you're using batting/wadding. I went for 4oz batting, which in hind sight was probably too thick - 2oz would be perfect with a nice warm fleece lining. Another quick sew - great pattern.

First PAB pattern I've done. The piecing of the pattern pieces was super easy, all matching beautifully. To me that clearly indicated this pattern was a winner! Sewn & finished in couple of hours - very pleased with finished vest. I went with the zipper & collar option, these went together well although a bit fiddly when finishing collar. Would have liked some instructions or comments about trimming seams as there were none - unless I missed them. Next time I'll trim as I would normally when sewing garments. Thanks Amy & PAB for a great vest pattern. Now onto my next PAB pattern sew - the Cowl Neck Pullover!

I made four of these in three days. I love the versatility of the pattern. I can't wait to see my four grandsons in their reversible vests. I am sure I will make this pattern again with different options. I used fleece inside and out and found the seams a little bulky in places, but if you trim your seams, you will not have a problem.

The order and download process was easy and fast. The assembly of the pattern was quick and instructions were great and easy to follow. My only criticism was the chart provided for the amount of fabric needed per size. It does not give options on amount needed based on different width of fabrics so I ended up buying way more fabric than I needed. The finished vest turned out great and I can hardly wait to give it to my granddaughter for Christmas.

The pattern was exactly what I was looking for & I'm sure I'll make three this month but the first run was a little tough. The zipper instructions were vague for me but probably because it was only the second zipper I had ever done.

The options included on this pattern are great. You can choose multiple ways to have a detachable hood, choose to have the hood permanent, and multiple closure options for the best itself.
I made one for my three year old with light corduroy and light flannel and it is adorable. My six year old chooses a permanent hood and he is going to make a large portion of the vest himself.
Thank you for including so many professional options on this pattern.
