Awesome pattern with very clear instructions. I plan to make a lot for my 3 kids over the next few years. The only problem i had (and it's more of a personal modesty preference) was that the suggested shorter inseam length for for my daughter was to short for my liking on my 7yo daughter. But that was qUickly and easily adjusted and I've made her a few pair now for this summer.

I purchased this pattern to make my son some summer shorts and it's quickly becoming a go-to pattern. The instructions are clear and the pattern comes together quickly. My son is a fan of the elastic waistband and I've used it on both knits and wovens. And thankfully the shorts end up plenty long on my tall kid so I don't need to lengthen the pattern. And thanks to the elastic waistband he may be able to wear his shorts next summer, too!

I wanted a pattern for knit pants with a separate, sewn-on self-fabric waistband. I lengthened the leg, (I used the Castaway Cargoes pants length as a guide.) and this pattern worked perfectly. The added waistband and the pockets keep these knit pants from having that "pajama bottom" look. I will make this one again and again, and once summer comes, there will be shorts!

I am a very timid person when it comes to sewing and I made my first pair. I was scared of the faux fly and the pockets as well, they went together really well...and I cannot sew a straight line to save my life!
Very cute shorts! Another win. Thanks Amy!

I have to admit that pockets scared me! But this pattern is so well written that I had the pockets and shorts done in less than an hour! I love the look of these shorts as well. Over all a very good, easy to follow pattern. You will not be disappointed!

Cute, comfy, and perfect for hot summer days, this shorts pattern is set apart by its details. The faux fly. The cute back pocket. And the adorable front pockets (which my boys love to hide treasures in). All of these details make for a perfect, adorable shorts pattern!

This pattern can be a great learning pattern if you've never done pockets before! They are simple and the photos and instructions ensure you do them correctly. Adding piping would be easy to make these shorts even more customized.

This is my favourite peekaboo pattern (so far!). These shorts are so comfortable and quick to make. My boys love wearing them and it is easy to lengthen them into pants as well.

These are the most comfortable shorts! My kids love them. Love that I can make my daughter a pair of shorts that are not super short like most store bought ones are.
