This is the first pattern i've bought as a pdf and printed - that worked perfectly and is a super neat feature. I was surprised to look at the measurements and decide i needed a XXL, which i think implies that this pattern runs rather small. The fit is nice though and is flattering.
i have a huge complaint about the producer's choice to explain how to install the zippers for both the pockets and the front. I have previous experience with zippers and was able to figure them out but the directions are very confusing and employ a lot of implied knowledge. The zipper i bought for the regular length was FAR too long and i needed to cut and finish it myself.
i honestly also disagree with a previous reviewer - the pieces don't always fit. I had a lot of trouble with the collar fitting properly (collar was a little too short, didn't go all the way to the front of the jacket) and the length of the zipper shield (it was far too long so also needed trimmed.)
all in all i wouldn't recommend this pattern to a newbie but if you're fairly experienced it's a good jacket, especially for fleece! i may try making it again for my fiance but it was honestly VERY frustrating at times with the zippers and i had to spend a lot of time ripping out seams to repair the damage.

I am so impressed with the Cascade! It sewed up really easy, the instructions were easy to follow and the final product turned out great! The only thing I was slightly confused on was the zipper and zipper shield but I think that was due to my being a first time zipper sewer. But I still got it in the end and only took me two nights from start to finish!!! Thanks for a great pattern!

I tested this pattern for Amy and I have to say she did a fantastic job, as usual! I love her patterns. The fit of this jacket is spot on. It is roomy enough to wear a light sweater underneath and still maintain that fitted shape that I love about it. Pattern pieces fit together perfectly and the instructions are easy to follow.
